Private by Design

Duo processes 100% of display frames locally on your Mac’s GPU. No screenshots, personal data, or telemetry are ever stored or transmitted.

1. Screen Recording Permission

Duo requires macOS Screen Recording permissions solely to snapshot the live desktop during the physical lid-closing gesture so that windows and wallpapers can fold together in 3D perspective using Metal shaders. Frames are transiently rendered in memory and immediately discarded.

2. Sensor Access

Duo reads raw hinge angle reports directly from Apple's native hardware sensor via IOKit. No accessibility hacks, screen reading, or keystroke logging APIs are used.

3. No Account & Zero Tracking

We do not require account creation, track your app usage, or use third-party analytics SDKs. Your license key is stored locally in macOS Keychain or standard UserDefaults.
